Exaggeration

Daily writing prompt
What could you let go of, for the sake of harmony?

Some people have a habit of exaggerating everything they say, convinced of their own rightness even when the facts don’t support them.

They speak with such confidence that they expect others to believe them without question. What’s surprising is their belief that others can’t see through the act.

Whether it’s to appear more important or simply to win an argument, their self-assured tone masks insecurity, and often, those around them just choose silence over confrontation.

There’s a quiet joy in simply sitting across from someone who constantly exaggerates, watching them spin their tales with full conviction.

You don’t need to argue or expose their bluff, just observing their performance is entertainment in itself. That silent amusement, and the calm you maintain—it’s a rare kind of enjoyment, one that comes from knowing more than you let on.
