Daily writing prompt
Are you holding a grudge? About?

If there’s one thing that tests my patience every single day, it’s people with absolutely zero civic sense, especially when it comes to parking. Our colony lanes are barely wide enough for two cars to pass, but some folks think of them as their personal parking lots.

Here’s the question I’ll never understand: Why buy six cars when you only have space for two? It’s like ordering a buffet when your plate can hold only one dish. If your bungalow plot has two parking slots, then have the good sense to stop at two cars. But no, out comes car number three, four, five, and six… and where do they land? Right outside on the road, bang in front of someone else’s gate.

And then the daily circus begins. Imagine trying to reverse your car while someone has generously “gifted” you a roadblock right outside your gate. Or worse, trying to squeeze your vehicle out without scratching it against theirs. Then and there you have have to first play a game of Tetris with these selfishly parked cars. The irony? These people don’t see a problem. They believe, “I bought it, I’ll park it where I like.” Never mind that their convenience is everyone else’s nightmare.

Civic sense is supposed to be about thinking of others, but here it seems to have gone missing in action. Honestly, it’s a shame. Money can buy cars, but clearly not common sense. And let’s be real …. such people rarely change.

Stricter rules and fines have yet to kick in. Until then, the rest of us … Abhimanyus just have to keep navigating these “Parking Chakravyuhas” that our colony roads have turned into.

So the next time you admire someone’s fleet of cars outside their bungalow, remember: what looks like luxury to them is plain torture to their neighbors.
