I think Electricity is no more just a utility…we depend on this luxury. All our lives are revolving around this so much that we find it hard to survive without it.
I do remember times when there were electricity shut downs every week. We used to gather under the building, play together and pass time. Exam times were hard with Candles and emergency tubes. Those days were different.
Slowly and steadily stabilizers, and home protectors serviced well for all the appliances and saved them from sudden switch offs. And then entered the inverter. This gadget changed the life. Now with stored battery all necessary applications are working even when there is no supply from government. Now kids don’t know what is something called as dark.Solar panels came into existence and changed mindsets to environment friendly solution of electricity provision.
The other day, we had a solar battery installation work for the inverter. They switched off the electric supply for around 6-7 hours. Does this work needs so much time or there is glitch regarding finding right neutral wires is another issue. But this shut down in second half was eye opener.

All machines stalled. Batteries getting discharged. Candles were unavailable. Kids getting cranky… Then while finding different ways to play with them, we played atlas, serial words, songs, names of players and then… imagine what came as rescue… Game of shadow… Wow!!! That’s what it took torch …light and fun…

So staying without electricity is tough!!!
