Daily writing prompt
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I don’t remember what I wished to become when I was very young. But I do remember one thing. I wanted to become old. When I first encountered school and studies, I definitely thought it would be better to be old. You could do whatever you want instead of getting constant advice about do’s and don’ts.

Eventually, my parents gave me the opportunity and freedom to do what I wanted. That’s what my takeaway would be. Now as a parent, would love my kids to do what they wish… New generation is way beyond…they do have clarity of thoughts and conviction to achieve what they want.

While thinking about this prompt I remembered one Hindi movie. That was 3 Idiots. It was directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Wonderful and thought-provoking comedy-drama based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Five Point Someone (on eof the Goodreads: https://amazon.in/dp/B09ZJ1BT9D?ref=KC_GS_GB_IN). Starring Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi, the film follows three engineering students navigating our education system.

Rancho (Aamir Khan) challenges traditional learning methods, inspiring his friends while clashing with their strict director, Virus (Boman Irani). The film brilliantly critiques the pressures of academic success, emphasizing passion over rote learning. Aamir Khan delivers a stellar performance, supported by Madhavan, Joshi, and an entertaining Omi Vaidya.

The humor, emotions, and life lessons blend seamlessly, making it both engaging and meaningful. Shantanu Moitra’s music enhances the film’s appeal.

With its perfect mix of comedy, drama, and social message, 3 Idiots remains a timeless classic. A must-watch for all.
