I think as compared to myself my parents were steady and calm in parenting. Both of them were working but never worried about if their kids are doing well.
They were not worried about us going to school on bicycle. They did not use tracking / phone to confirm our locations.
They never were bothered about marks and the race, just asked us to focus on understanding of the concepts. There were times when we all used to watch TV serials and they used get over. Shows were scheduled at specific times and once a week. No one cared if these kids kept watching the screen for long periods. There really was nothing else to see.
They taught us values like hard work, sincerity, truthfulness and respect for society through their behaviour. There were no such summer camps teaching moral science.
They must have faced problems in their generation. But we were protected yet free to take decisions. We were also confident to face the repercussions. Times change and challenges as well. Parents are like a ray of light. They show us the correct path and help us to pass through all the ups and downs.
