I am from the era … Yes… The era…when we used to write content on paper. In a language examination we used to write essays, formal-informal letters, notes, newspaper advertisements, etc. I remember practicing for these types of questions before exams. Earlier there were parents who used to allow us to make mistakes and learn. Then after landing in college, I had an opportunity to write for cultural group. Where we used to churn ideas for writing one-act plays, I have written hundreds of pages to develop good creative piece of writing. Twenty years back we talked about robots with emotions as a topic for theatre and now it is available in different formats and literally manipulating us. I know; it must have been an old idea even back then as well… what a paradox! each new idea is stale and each unique thought is second. Coming to the point, we used to write …good or bad… whatever it is… But we did.

Then came professional writing… My first interaction with this type of writing was writing your own CV… Now, you just outsource this…it’s not that important…you focus on getting a job. How? God knows. In those days with some genius, we managed to get a campus job. HRs back then didn’t have a tool to filter CVs, so they must have read those CVs. My company belonged to the hard-core mechanical industry, and I was GET so you do whatever has been told to do…my task was to write… I wrote QSP which is a quality system procedure which is required from ISO certification. A journal with the Jobs and responsibilities of each worker and How to … the procedures of various machines. We did time and motion studies related to prepress, press, and post-press activities, worked on the why-why analysis, fishbone diagrams, and many more. Then on when I started as freelancer, being a script writer, I understood the importance of ellipsis in language, and why we are not supposed to use as many dots as we want, I think it’s the most nonverbal form of communication used in verbal communication. While writing marketing articles for an IT company, I received a list of subjects and methods to develop articles as per requirement. I have learned demand-specific writing and the use of images. I have seen style guides of translation companies getting changed from “Strictly don’t use Google translation” to “Use translation tools wherever possible and work smartly”

So, basically, we learned how to think and how to write down what we have thought. Now it’s even easier, Use interrogative words, put them as prompts, and receive an answer… Succinct/ long… whatever. So, now the process is the other way round, first, you write and then think, which I guess needs straight angle rotation. Why prompted me to write all these things…

1. It was wordpress prompt..such a naive reason…

2. I have been reading many posts about content writing… good writers/ bad writers/ fake writers / ghostwriters/ freelance writers/ good for nothing writers and whatnot… All jobs/hopes are gone, AI is coming, Let’s cry…

Whenever a writer decides on a topic on their own, then writing is instinctive. Whereas, if a list of articles/blogs/topics is given by a client/employer targeted for a particular audience then a well-informed learned piece of writing is expected. So, when we write for professional purposes, let us use various tools that enhance writing style and save time. These tools ensure grammar, tone, and clarity. It is Cost-effective for businesses as well; so anyway customers prefer AI, but still, there is scope… what matters is originality or creativity. So, balancing AI efficiency with human creativity is key to success in this era. I know the subject has become Content Writing in the era of AI… Be it… we are on the battlefield against AI… Thus, instead of crying… let’s try …. keep reading…keep writing!!
